Showa Kinen Koen is one of the nicest park I've ever seen in Japan. It's a little bit out of the way from the city but the nature is gorgeous. It is a perfect destination to watch the fall colors.
The closest station is Nishi Tachikawa Station (JR Ome Line). You could also get off at Tachikawa Station (JR Chuo Line) and walk a bit to reach the park.
The entrance fee is 400 yen. 80 yen if you can pretend that you're still 15 years old.
This park is huge. Really huge. With 400+ acres of nature, you could spend the whole day inside the park.
There are lot of things you could do inside the park. You can watch the beauty of nature from Tulip to Cosmos to Bonsai, go bird watching, cycling, jogging, take a boat, have a BBQ, olay at Children's Forest, play croquet, mini golf, futsal, etc. Even if you just want to read a book under the shade of tree, this park is just perfect.
It's also a good place to take photos of Danbo. :)
The beauty of nature. :)
Gorgeous place. I will definitely revisit this place in the future.
