2010

Whenever I reach the end of year, I usually spend my time to look back and think how fast time flies. 2010 for me was a memorable year. Lots of good and bad, happy and sad things happened in 2010. So many things happened that I couldn't really follow what had happened.

There is one great thing about blogging your life. During this time of year, bloggers could go through our own blog to go through the entries. Looking at the photos that we've taken through out the years, reading the words we wrote, and recalling back how we felt at that day at that time. With those we could easily remember our stories.

Let’s take a quick look of the things that I did in 2010.

Happy Halloween

At this time of year, in the dark of the night, when the black cats are hissing and the werewolves are howling, strange ghosts, zombies, and Danbo the witch are out to bring you lots of thrill. Wish you a hell-y happy Halloween !

Bokeh

Bokeh (暈け or ボケ) is a a Japanese term for the subjective aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of a photographic image. It refers to those beautiful magical out-of-focus light, with different shapes and colors that you found in the background of many photos taken with large aperture ( such as f1.8 or larger ). Normal bokeh usually has a circle shaped like this one, but I've been playing around with my lens to create a love shaped one. ^^

Stephanie & Daniel Wedding

Meet Stephanie and Daniel, two sweet and loving souls, who invited me to their wonderful wedding in Indonesia. Stephanie is one of my good friends. I’ve known her since university. She’s a pretty, smart, and funny girl. A couple of weeks ago I received the news that she's getting married and she invited me to her wedding in Jakarta. Thank you Stephanie and Daniel for the honor to capture your beautiful wedding. I had a great time shooting your wedding.

Singapore Travel

I love traveling. Traveling for me is like a therapy when things get crazy. I always try to take lots of travel photos because the photos are making me happy. When you look at the photos, you can recall back your memories of that place and time. Remembering the time when you strolled down the street, remembering how good the foods were, remembering how you felt when you explored something new, remembering how beautiful what life had offered.

During my holiday, I went to Singapore again to meet old and new friends, explore new and interesting places, take silly photos, eat delicious food, and enjoy what Singapore has to offer. I was actually thinking of moving to Singapore but decided not to, because right now my passion lies here in Japan.

It's Your Special Day !

May 31st is a special day for one of my dearest friends, Eva. Eva is a very sweet and cool girl. She and I first met at university and we've been a good friend since then. We graduated at the same time, went our separate ways after that, and then we met again in Japan. We laughed together, had fun traveling together, went snowboarding together, and took some silly photos together. It is sad that she is no longer in Japan now. Even though we're far away from each other, she's still my best friend.

Guts Soul - Koenji

Guts Soul is known among people as the super cheap Yakiniku Tabe Houdai (All-You-Can-Eat) restaurant. It means you can sit down and eat Yakiniku as much as you want. Sounds like heaven for meat lovers.

The Season That I've Been Waiting For

I hope I'm not the only who is so excited to see Sakura. ;)

Today for me was just a normal day. While I was in train heading back home, I was thinking about what I should write for my blog. That's when I realized something.

Dear readers, Danbo has recently got infected with Twitter disease. Unfortunately, no cure has been found. Let's hope my phone bill doesn't increase a lot.

2009

2009 has been a great year for me. Lots of things, good and bad, have happened since I picked up photography and started blogging. Quite awesome I would say. Through this blog, I've met lots of fantastic people.

Layout V2

Other than photography, I enjoy design. In the very beginning, I designed this blog as a design blog to share some of the designs or wallpapers that I made. Somehow along the way, I decided to change it to a photo blog. It's been 9 months since I started blogging, and I believe it is time to change the layout while cleaning up some bad codes !

Mirai Suenaga Wallpaper

It has been raining so often lately, especially during weekends. When it rains in Japan, usually it rains all day along and often accompanied by strong winds. I would rather stay home during that time.

It was raining yesterday so I spent my time making wallpaper of Mirai Suenaga, cute mascot of Dannychoo.com. Been a while since I made wallpaper, so I went for a simple design.

Home

To have a place you can called "Home" is a wonderful thing. A place where you can rest and get food for your body and mind. No matter how far you travel over the world, there is nothing as great as your home. During the Obon holiday, I went back to Indonesia to visit my family.

A Walk in the Park

Tokyo, or Chiba in my case, is a city filled with lots of tall, concrete building all over the place. Even with all of the buildings, the city still offers some lovely park for its residents to have a break and enjoy the nature.

The Neighborhood

One of the things that I like to do during weekend is walking around my neighborhood. It has become one of my regularly activity to just spend some quality time walking around in the evening, enjoying fresh air, and taking a couple of photos.

Foreign Registration - Chiba Chuo Ward

A few weeks ago I moved to Chiba City, a big city but not as crowded as Tokyo. According to the Alien Registration Law, if we change address ,we are obligated to apply at the office of the new municipality in which you reside within 14 days. The Chiba City Ward is located in Chiba Chuo closed to Parco, a big shopping center in Chiba City.
