Oohara Naked Festival

Oohara Hadaka Matsuri
Wait, Naked Festival ?? Well, don't worry. The men weren't entirely naked. Every year in Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture, the Japanese people celebrates the Oohara Hadaka ( Naked ) Festival. The festival is celebrated by hundreds of nearly naked males and females to wish for the good luck and the prosperity of the year. It is by far the most interesting festival I've ever seen.

Chiba Floral Museum
Chiba City is also known as the City of Flowers. The city holds flowers festival and gardening contest every year. There are lots of flower related places around Chiba, one of them is the Chiba Floral Museum ( 花の美術館 ). I visited the museum just before I moved to Tokyo from Chiba.

Narita City

IMG_4210
When you hear the word Narita, the Narita International Airport immediately comes in mind. It is the first place that foreigners usually take the the first step onto Japan. The Narita International Airport is located in Narita City. Beside being a gateway to Japan, Narita itself is a very charming city.

Inage

Inage
Last week I spent most of my free time at home. I tried to devote my time for my dear Mac, to understand him, and to get to know each other. Although things were progressing nicely, it might take a while before we become best friend. I decided to give some free time alone for him while I went adventuring in Chiba Prefecture.

FAQ: Photography Tips

IMG_6176
I've received few emails asking about photography. I love to respond to the emails. To be able to share what I know is a very good thing. That is why starting from this post, I will make an FAQ post from time to time to tell you a little bit about photography. I am not a professional nor a photography guru. The FAQ will be based on my personal experience. I believe every people has their own style so it might not work on you. What I could guarantee is my love for photography. ;)

A Walk in the Park

IMG_1357
Tokyo, or Chiba in my case, is a city filled with lots of tall, concrete building all over the place. Even with all of the buildings, the city still offers some lovely park for its residents to have a break and enjoy the nature.

The Neighborhood

IMG_1317
One of the things that I like to do during weekend is walking around my neighborhood. It has become one of my regularly activity to just spend some quality time walking around in the evening, enjoying fresh air, and taking a couple of photos.

Inohana Koen

Inohana Koen Entrance

Inohana Park (亥鼻公園), located in downtown Chiba, is quite well famous as a good spot to watch Sakura. Knowing that the Sakura season was over already, I went there a few weeks ago to take a look at it while still hoping that Sakura were there.

Nokogiri Yama

IMG_0384
Nokigiri Yama (Saw Mountain) is a mountain located at the western end of Boso Peninsula, Honshu, Japan. It is called Saw Mountain because it resembles the edge of saw (Nokogiri). It is located 330 meters above the sea level. The famous spots there are The Daibutsu (Great Buddha), Sen Gohyaku Rakan (1500 disciples of Buddha), and Jigoku Nozoki (Peering into Hell) cliff.
